The turning of the calendar to a New Year has a sense of magic attached to it.

It represents potential, possibilities, and a fresh start.

For a brief moment, as the old year washes away, it seems like anything is possible.

The “New Year” tends to bring out the dreamer in all of us.

So we create lists in our heads of how things will change in the coming year. The vices we’ll let go, and the changes we’ll make.

Then it begins….

We look at our lists and compare where we want to be  – to where we are. What we want to what we have. And we look at what we wanted last year that we didn’t “get” this year.

We look at what’s “wrong” with our lives. (Yeah, how helpful is that?)

For most people, well,  it’s painful and demoralizing. (It limits you just when you need the motivation most!)

MARIANNE STRAIT

Helping you break the cycle of unsuccessful New Year’s resolutions.

“I probably shouldn’t be making any New Years Resolutions this year…mainly because I’m still working on the ones from last year.”

CAROL ROSSI

That’s where most people stop.

They throw their hands up in the air as they ask “What’s the use?”

For them, the idea of setting and committing to a goal is too risky. No one wants to imagine sitting there next year wishing for the same things again….but (by avoiding it) that’s what they do.

What’s even worse: Because they’ve just spent all this time looking at what’s wrong – it’s almost impossible, at this point, to look ahead and see what could go right.

So they create what I call “lip service” resolutions –  like “I’ll lose this extra weight” or “I’ll get a new job”.  Even if you want these things, these resolutions feel more empty. There’s no power to them. No “meat” on the bones.  They’re just empty words you can toss out when someone asks about resolutions.

That’s why they don’t work.  That’s why, year after year, you end up making the same “resolutions”. That’s a huge part of why you never seem to get ahead in life.

The good news is, with a little help, you can change everything!

What I’ve learned….

…is that we are all doing the best we can with we have at the moment. I also believe that fear takes over.  Fear of trying, yet again, and failing.

If you aren’t careful, this fear can lead to “settling”.  It leads to feeling that things are “good enough”.

Before you know it, it’s ok to stay where you are. You give up.

You CAN make it work!

With the right system you can create New Year’s Resolutions that actually work.  The right system will guide you through the steps that give you clarity, focus, committment and the courage to try again. Imagine creating Bullet-proof” resolutions that motivate you!

And that takes time.

For resolutions to be successful you need

a goal, a plan, a motivating vision

– and action!

Start Now…

Like anything new, the first time through takes a bit longer..  you’re taking a new, full, approach to your resolutions.

I suggest at least 3 weeks to take a look at where you are, where you want to be, and the steps you’ll take to make it happen.

Why 3 weeks?

I like to break my resolution setting into three different steps, with a little space in between each step for reflection, and inspiration!

You’re seeking clarity, not speed. You’re creating a real plan – and the inspiration and motivation that will keep you going all year long!

Plus: If you start now, you’ll have plenty of time to build your vision, your inspiration and your motivation.  You may even take action now toward your goal!!!  Why wait?

Bottom Line: You need to treat New Years Resolutions like real goals.

 When you take the time
to create your resolutions the right way

You’ll be amazed by your results!

I truly love sharing what I learn with you. Watching someone have an "a-ha" moment is one of the best things in life for me.

Because I am  a consummate "student" - when I find something new and interesting, I really dig deep.    I study hard and then I use what I've learned to help others.  (Yeah, I have gathered together quite a toolbox!)

I truly do believe in the power of "Jump Starts" and the ability everyone has to "get un-stuck." If I can do it, anyone can!

I believe that every human is unique and valuable,

even if they aren't able to recognize it themselves.

and

I believe each and every one has the power to create a great life

once they recognize -and accept- their value.

Even as a child I've been able to help people change the way they see themselves - helping them move from a "victim" to an "owner" mindset. I help them to gain self-confidence and recognize their strengths. I've discovered that it's only when you do that, can you "get un-stuck" and "Jump Start" your life.

What drives me is helping others to succeed, to be a support system while they are taking steps toward their dream, and to watch them celebrate their victories.

The Biggest Lesson I've learned is the power of your mind.  It truly does create and destroy.

It was quite a shock when I realized the power that my mindset played in every part of my life - good and bad.  Discovery wasn't enough though, it still took me decades to harness this power, learn to control it, and develop a system to help others master this in a fraction of the time it took me.

Taking responsibility - even for how others treated me - was one of the hardest adjustments I had to make. To move from Victim to Owner mindset was not only difficult, it was, at times, scary.

It is a move that I am thrilled to have taken. It changed my life and it can change yours.
