Have you heard

the expression-

You get what you think about?

Yeah, I get it, it’s a term that’s grossly overused.

Kinda like “You reap what you sow”

Yet it hides a big secret.

“You get what you think about” is both a lesson AND a warning.  Think about good things, you get them, think about bad, that’s what you get. It’s all about the thought.

“You reap what you sow”, is typically interpreted to mean that what happens in your world is the byproduct of your actions.

You work hard, you get the promotion, you drink and drive, you get arrested.

But, what if it was deeper than that?

“Your reality is as peaceful, healing, drama-ridden, and destructive as your imagination is creative.”

AMY LARSON

What if your actions are

-in fact-

the result

of your imagination?

What if THAT was the secret?

What would you change if you knew your imagination was the root of it all?

For example:

what if you believed, really believed, that by using your imagination – you’d get the inspiration, the connections, the ideas that would move you easily toward your goals?

“Luck” would take on a whole new meaning. It would be something you gain by properly using your imagination. (No some “random” blessing only a few people get.)

“Being in the right place at the right time” would be a natural occurrence too!

Now I’m not saying it would be “magic” or instantaneous. Just that it would be easier. It would “flow”. You’d be coming from a position of inspiration, passion and joy.

If you believed this – how would your “actions” change?

Would they be more definitive and bold?

Would you “go for it” with gusto?

Would you feel passion?

Would you feel more confident?

Would you expect great results – instead of fearing that you’d be an utter failure?

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”

ALBERT EINSTEIN

Look around you. Everything you see was first imagined, THEN brought to life.  The chair you’re sitting on, the clothes you are wearing, the computer or phone you are reading this on… everything was at first a dream. A vision. A product of someone’s imagination.

As they imagined it, they were inspired with the “how’s”.

Get that?

First came the imagination, then, after envisioning it fully formed and working, came the inspiration for “how” to bring it to life.

So how do you imagine it?  You find a moment in time that represents that it’s yours…and “Feel” it as if it WAS yours. (If you feel any hesitation or negativity  move your imagination farther into the future!) Assume the state of the person who has (what you want) and really FEEL it.

Do this and chances are you’ll have a series of coincidences occur.  You’ll run into someone on the street and they have a good step,  idea, or even a  “contact” that can help you.  You’ll flip a page in a magazine and find an article that gives you a piece of the puzzle. You’ll scroll through the TV channels and find information or inspiration. Someone calls you unexpectedly. You’ll walk past a bookstore and a book seems to just “jump out” at you. Lots of little things can happen.

From there you move into action.

Inspired action.  Action that comes with passion, joy, and motivation.  You may just get a “feeling’ of what you need to do.  DO IT.  Don’t question it. It may be something silly like walk around the block, but when you do, you may run into someone you rarely see, and that conversation can lead to more steps to take.

You may end up working really really hard, but you feel so much joy in the discovery, the progress, and the ideas, that it hardly feels like “work”.

That’s how great lives – and great things – are built.

Make the decision to live like this.

Every day.

I know I do.

In my own life,  when I think of myself as a loving teacher,  ideas flow.  The right words and “pictures” show up for to the articles. I don’t “work” to make it happen, I just feel it flowing through me. I can’t wait to “start” the article. Time flies and I have so much fun!

AND life will throw a few things my way to inspire even more ideas to share with you. I  see day to day things, things that I normally passed off as “routine”, from a whole new perspective. A perspective that includes a ‘lesson’ I’m inspired to share…. a good example of this is my Feral Cat Story.

I’ll discuss this more in depth in future articles, for now, let this basic premise sink it. Try it on a few “simple” things,on some “small goals”, and see for yourself just how easy it can be. Simply envision they are real, they are here.  Go through your day as if they’ve already come to be. BE the type of person who has this.

I truly love sharing what I learn with you. Watching someone have an "a-ha" moment is one of the best things in life for me.

Because I am  a consummate "student" - when I find something new and interesting, I really dig deep.    I study hard and then I use what I've learned to help others.  (Yeah, I have gathered together quite a toolbox!)

I truly do believe in the power of "Jump Starts" and the ability everyone has to "get un-stuck." If I can do it, anyone can!

I believe that every human is unique and valuable,

even if they aren't able to recognize it themselves.

and

I believe each and every one has the power to create a great life

once they recognize -and accept- their value.

Even as a child I've been able to help people change the way they see themselves - helping them move from a "victim" to an "owner" mindset. I help them to gain self-confidence and recognize their strengths. I've discovered that it's only when you do that, can you "get un-stuck" and "Jump Start" your life.

What drives me is helping others to succeed, to be a support system while they are taking steps toward their dream, and to watch them celebrate their victories.

The Biggest Lesson I've learned is the power of your mind.  It truly does create and destroy.

It was quite a shock when I realized the power that my mindset played in every part of my life - good and bad.  Discovery wasn't enough though, it still took me decades to harness this power, learn to control it, and develop a system to help others master this in a fraction of the time it took me.

Taking responsibility - even for how others treated me - was one of the hardest adjustments I had to make. To move from Victim to Owner mindset was not only difficult, it was, at times, scary.

It is a move that I am thrilled to have taken. It changed my life and it can change yours.
